Analyzing and Writing Arguments

  • i analyzed don't persume to know a pigs mind and in that essay the author used a almost kind of sarcastic tone which made his arguments against chipotle mexican grill seem so obviously right; however, this kind of tone also made me believe that he was telling his audience what to think which might have cause some audience to lose interest in the reading. This taught me that my tone can easily be untrustworthy if i don't connect to my audience right
  • Another thing i notice while analyzing this essay was that the author doesn't just give out his what he is arguing out there. like in his essay he was basically saying he supported factory farming , yet he never really used that word; however this is a problem since he makes it seem like factory farming is a horrible thing since he wont say it himself. this has taught me that i must tell what i am arguing about and include details to not lose my audience.
  • finally i notice how the author used good supporting details to support his arguments. he said that if we go back to farming the old way people might have to pay more for bacon. This taught me that i must use good supporting details that will make me trustworthy and seem like i know what i am talking about.
