Thinking Critically About Evidence

Students should not go to college full time and have a side job on the side because it will cause their grades to go down, it may cause stress to students, and will not be able to prioritize.

  • My strongest argument would be that balancing 2 things at once like school and work might not turn out to be a smart thing because it may cause students health problems such as stress. Students might not be able to keep up with the H.W and trying to work at the same time. Some students might even have to pull off an all nighter just to finish a essay they may be working on. By doing so they may feel sleeping during class and wont be paying attention like they should. This will also cause students to get less sleep and might feel like they cant do it anymore they need their sleep and will eventually drop a class. Students are more likely to drop a class if needed to keep up with their daily life, yet students aren't more likely to quit their job.

  • My weakest argument would be that there are some student out there who need a job in order to buy their books and other stuff necessary for them to succeed as students. they might need a job because the FASFA money they are getting now isn't enough to cover all of their studies. Their are also many students who have part time jobs and are OK balancing their student life and their work life. Students might See this as a opportunity to grow and be responsible.
